Next day I’m giving me some culture clash to soothe my inner uproar at least a little. I left Dave and John after breakfast as they had plans to go into the studio to meet Fletch, Mart and Ben Hillier.
Tate Modern, you’re all mine! Well, that’s what I at least thought!
I’m still on the Millennium Bridge when – you guess it – my mobile starts to ring! It’s Andy. He’s calling from the studio.
„Just wanted to get you before the circus here starts again, Siv. You’re OK? I feel a little bad about that night, you know – leaving you just like that.“
„Andy – that’s really nothing I’d like to discuss over the phone.“
„Yes, you’re right. Would you like to come for a tea tomorrow afternoon? Grainne likes to get to know you as well.“
I’m a bit shocked for a second – then I cough.
„She wants to meet me?“
„Sure, why not? I showed her some images from your beautiful homepage.“
„You did what?“ I hear a little laughter on the other end of the line.
„Well, you’re not too difficult to google, baby!“
Fact is I didn’t tell him about my website – neither did I talk about it with Dave or John. Though I wouldn’t wonder at all if Mr. Cold Cash would have investigated on me. Dave? I don’t know. He’s so busy with other things – but it’s not impossible – hell knows!
„You have your camera with you, right?“
Now I have to smile.
„Sure, I never leave my home without it!“
„OK, then bring it with you tomorrow.“ What is he after? „I need to go now – the guys already start to quarrel again – you know Mart and Dave together in a studio...sheesh! Oh, and Christian is here as well – he desperately want to meet you too – so he’ll be there tomorrow as well, if that’s fine with you. I have to dash – cheers, Siv!“
I shake my head and let my mobile slip back into my pocket. Let’s really pray the guys are definitely busy. Don’t want to imagine them having some ‚boys talk’ about me. Hopefully Dave and John are discrete! Gosh, I’m really in the middle of a self created chaotic nightmare! And now also Christian will enter the scene! Oh happy translation! How can I look him straight into his eyes now? OK, it somehow worked with Dave, John and Andy – though I hadn’t had any intentions to shag with them all! Will I be able to look into the mirror later on? I for sure will not add Chris to that fine collection!
I decide to ditch the Tate Modern and take a bus back to Camden. Back in the hotel room I search for my swim suit and bathing sheet. There’s for sure some indoor swimming bath in the area. I need to be active now – and water is an element that usually gives me great relief when I’m stressed or emotionally strung out.
Four more days – then my holiday is over! But does that count for all the confusion as well?
