Chapter Twenty Five


“Morning Beautiful” Dave breathed in her ear as he sat next to her on the bed and his lips found her, “I made us breakfast.”

“Mmmm” she opened her eyes slowly and looked at him sleepily “Hey baby”

“Come on sleepy head, time to eat look, I made us croissants, black coffee and juice, there's some bacon in the oven, and more coffee brewing, oh and I even made you” he lifted a napkin from one of the plates “some Marmite on toast”

“No I went out specially to buy it this morning, I had to go to five stores before I found somewhere that stocked it.”

“Aww Dave that's so sweet of you.” she smiled touched that he'd done that especially for her and promising herself that she wouldn't remind him she had a suitcase full of the stuff. “But you didn't have to you know.”

“I know but I wanted to,” he reached down the side of the bed “I got you something else as well.”

“Dave?”

“These” he pulled a handtied boquet of flowers up and laid them on her lap.

“Lilies” she exclaimed her eyes lighting up. “David they're beautiful thank you.”

“I wasn't sure if I should or not, but the lady that does the flower order for me was just arriving at the shop, so I nipped in to change it back again, then got her to make this up for you.”

“Thank you” she inhaled the scent of them deeply “They smell goregous Dave.”

Dave smiled broadly glad that he'd gone with his instincts and bought them for her, “Here give them to me sweetheart I'll put them on the side.”

“Okay” she inhaled their sent once more before handing them over, “They really are beautiful Dave, thank you.”

“My pleasure, ready to eat then?” he asked joining her on the bed and sitting next to her.

“erm aren't you forgeting something?” she looked at him and smiled slutishly “I believe I'm still waiting for my morning wake up call.”

“Mmmm yes sorry my mistake.” he grinned evilly as he pushed her thighs apart and slipped himself inside.



“Is this scar from the accident?” he asked running his hand lightly over the silvery scar on the left side of her stomach as they lay together after they'd eaten.

“Oh I don't know, I don't remember which, whats this anyway a road trip of all my old injuries?” She frowned

“No I was just interested that's all I want to know every part of you.”

“Well yes I suppose they are.”

Lightly he kissed the scar that ran across the top of her left arm. “So how about this one?”

“That one, accident with a glass door a couple of years ago.”

“This one then?” his lips moved down to the curved one on the back of her left thigh.

“I fell downstairs whilst I was carrying a mug, and landed on it's broken remains.”

Dave looked up at her curiously.

“Yes I know bizzare accident.”

“How about all these on the back of your leg then”

“I don't know, probably nicked myslef with a razor whilst shaving them I guess.”

“You must have done that a lot of times, perhaps you should change to waxing.”

“Nooo tried that way too painful, I'll stick to razors thank you.”

“Why are you being so secretive?"

"I have a support group meeting this afternoon"

"I know I don't need to it's just kind of personal thats all."

"So do you want me to take you? I can drop you off if you want."

"No it's ok I have to go somewhere else"

"Where?"

"It's nothing, I just need to ..to see the campus doctor."

"Honey are you okay, you're not sick or something are you."

"No I just need to" she blushed a little and dropped her voice "To sort out some contracception or something."

"Contraception?" he looked at her puzzled "But I thought that, you know, I thought you can't conceive."

"I know that's what the doctors said but seeing as I've never actually tried I still want to make sure, sometimes I ovulate and get my period, not very often but it has happened, I don't want to take the chnace, the last thing we need is for me to actually get pregnant isn't it?"

"I guess so" he smiled. "Look honey if you're going to going to sort something out, we'll take you to my Doctor okay."

"No Dave" she smiled "I'll be fine, I'll just go to the clinic they run and sort something out."

"No arguments Callan, I'll book you in with my Doctor."

"Dave it's okay, the campus one is really good I'll just see him."

"Callan no arguments you're seeing mine."

"But I'll have to fill in forms and go through a check up and all that stuff, it'll take forever."

"So? we're not arguing Callan you'r seeing my doctor and thats final, anyway I want him to check your wrist over, that burn still doesn't look likes it's healing properly ok?"

"I'm not going to get a say am I?"

"No" he placed a kiss on her head "I'll make the call what time is your meeting?"

"I don't need to be there until 5.30pm"

“Good, why don't you finish getting ready.”

"Okay I'll just go and clean my teeth and do my make up"



"All set” he came and stood behind her watching as she finished applying the last coat of mascara to her eyelashes. “He's had a cancellation so he can see you at 2pm so" he said raising an eyebrow and sliding his hand up the inside of her dress "Fancy coming back to bed?"

“But I need to get clean clothes...”

“No the last thing you need” he interuppted her his lips finding hers as he started undoing the zipper of her dress “Are clothes...”




"Callan it's this way" he smiled placing his hand on the small of her back.

"I need to go to that shop first, I just need to get something." she checked her watch "It won't take a minute we've got plenty of time."

"What do you need?" he asked falling into step with her

"Knickers" she whispered "I've ran out of clean underwear."

"You mean?" he glanced at the dress she was wearing and grinned

"Yes"

"So I'm sure the doctor won't be bothered whether you're wearing underwear or not."
